Monica Scamardo

Austin City Director

Dr. Monica Scamardo serves as the Austin City Director alongside Lisa Freatman, Program Coordinator.

She began her career as psychologist and transitioned to The University of Texas-Employee Assistance Program where she was part of a team who provided short-term counseling, manager training and leadership coaching to the 18,000 faculty and staff. It was here that her heart for building effective teams and impactful leaders was ignited. In 2008, she built Variate, a firm specializing in leadership development and team effectiveness which allowed her the flexibility to spend more time with her growing family.

In addition to her work with Resource Global and Variate, Monica facilitates neighborhood Bible Study, serves as a prayer minister with Serenity Retreat, and leads a team in the faith dorm at Mountain View, a maximum-security women’s prison. It is here that she has lost count of the number of times she has heard, “God brought me here [prison] to save me!” Monica has 2 daughters, one in college and the other in high school, they call Celebration Church in Georgetown their church home.
